2025 Viking Legacy Scholar

Adam Schmitt
Western Technical College
“Being a Viking Legacy Scholar means carrying on the legacy of past leaders and using my Holmen education to make a positive impact. It is a reminder that I am part of something bigger than myself, and that I have a responsibility to give back and lead by example for the next generation of Vikings.”
Adam graduated from Holmen in 2025 as a leader in sports, academics, and vocation. On the football team, he anchored the Offensive Line and captained the Vikings for three years, earning All-Tribune, All-Region, and All-Conference honors. He was a three time Academic All-State selection. Adam was also a member of the Trap and Fishing Clubs - where his passion for the outdoors endures. He enjoys fishing for jumbo perch on the Mississippi River, chasing trophy whitetails, and foraging for morel mushrooms in the spring. After finishing his associates degree in Fire Science at Western Technical College, Adam plans to build a career in fire protection in the La Crosse area and later become a Nationally Registered Paramedic. Adam looks forward to contributing to the Viking Legacy through volunteering, mentoring, and serving as a first responder who keeps Holmen and the surrounding communities safe.
